Abstract
This study presents a comprehensive content analysis of play therapy research on childhood trauma from 2010 to 2023, examining methodologies, treatment settings, theoretical approaches, and trauma types across 18 selected studies. The findings highlight the need for more rigorous research methodologies to further establish play therapy as a structured and evidence-based intervention. Additionally, clearer theoretical frameworks are essential for enhancing treatment approaches and advancing the field. Future research is recommended to focus on methodological rigor and theoretical clarity to enhance the understanding and application of play therapy for childhood trauma.
